Why do babies need more sleep than adults?

Babies indeed need more sleep than adults. The reason for this is straightforward. Babies have to develop. They need sleep for the development of a sound body and a sound mind.

How much sleep do babies need?

The sleep of your baby changes with age. When your baby’s age is falling between the range of 0-3 months, then the ideal sleeping time of your baby must be between 14 hours to 17 hours.

Your baby should get up for small breaks only. Mostly newborns just get up only for feeding.

When your angel grows a little bit, and your age falls between 4 months to 11 months, then sleeping time must range from 12 hours to 15 hours.

So as the age of your little champion increases, the sleeping time of the champion decreases accordingly.

Newborn babies sleep for a range of 14 to 17 hours, but they don’t sleep in a long stretch. I mean that your baby sleep for this amount of time in breaks.

They sleep primarily for a length of 1.5 hours to 3 hours in one shift. After each shift, they wake up. They don’t just wake up but also need to refill their stomach.

They cry for feed. They also get irritated by the diaper and cry due to this irritation. You have to change their diaper. After that, they again sleep for a shift of 1.5 hours to 3 hours. This cycle goes on!!!
